Bake Sale Permit
The Jessamine County Health Department will allow certain
non-potentially hazardous food products prepared in the
home and other non-permitted kitchens to be sold by
charitable or non-profit organizations with prior written
approval.
Examples of non-potentially hazardous foods that may be sold: cakes, candies, cookies, breads, fruit pies.
Examples of potentially hazardous foods that are prohibited: diary products, meat and poultry products, uncooked or undercooked eggs (including meringue and custard pies), fish and seafood. If the food requires refrigeration, it is potentially hazardous and is prohibited.
All products shall be portioned, individually wrapped and labeled with the identity of the food before display. No exposed, open food is permitted.
The coordinator of this event is responsible for submitting a list of foods to be sold and the names and addresses of those people who prepared the foods. Only those items listed may be offered for sale. No fees will be involved.
Please print and complete the following form and forward it at least 5 working days prior to the bake sale to the attention of Barbara Smith, in the Environmental office of the Jessamine County Health Department.
