Our registered sanitarians have a wealth of environmental expertise and respond to environmental hazards to improve the overall human environment in Jessamine County. We do inspections in food services, retail markets, hotels and motels, mobile home parks, youth camps, swimming pools, spas, and tattoo studios. We offer food handlers and food managers classes. We work with homeowners and real estate developers to issue permits for on-site (septic) systems and certify septic tank cleaners. We do private water sampling (nominal charge) and handle rabies control and nuisance investigations. We furnish free radon test kits and information on radon abatement.

The Jessamine County Health Department is now offering year long Radon Test Kits to the community for free.
